Criminal Defense Case Experience
In the United States of America, people accused of crimes by government prosecutors are presumed innocent in the eyes of the
law unless and until an unbiased jury of 12 people unanimously finds them guilty,
beyond a reasonable doubt, after considering
all of the relevant evidence presented at a trial.  This approach has long been embedded in our legal traditions and Constitution
and
was designed to preserve the freedom of all Americans by protecting us against a continuation of the historically
omnipresent threat of governmental over-reaching and oppression.  Those who participate in our criminal justice system in
accord with its carefully crafted rules, whether defense attorneys, prosecutors, police, judges, or jurors, play different but equally
honorable, necessary, and important roles in the overall administration of justice in America.

My interest in defense attorney work in the criminal justice system traces back to the law school student internship I did with the
Cook County Public Defender's Office in Chicago, Illinois, in the early 1980's.   I have been a member of the Wisconsin
Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers since 2004.   As a defense attorney, I have represented clients accused of crimes or
ordinance violations in Milwaukee County Circuit Court, Milwaukee Municipal Court, Racine Municipal Court, Waukesha County
Circuit Court, and Waukesha Municipal Court.   I have defended clients against the following types of criminal accusations in
Wisconsin Circuit Courts:
A person accused or arrested:

 1) Should exercise the Constitutional Right to
refuse to answer any police or prosecutor questions

without first speaking to a defense attorney, no matter what threats or promises may be made;
     and

 2)  Should
hire an attorney with criminal defense experience without delay!
